The Baltimore connection

Among the 13 American contestants at this year's Warsaw competition is one with ties to Baltimore: Kevin Kenner, a Peabody graduate who studied with Leon Fleisher.

In June the 27-year-old Mr. Kenner tied for third place in Moscow's Tchaikovsky Competition -- the highest place earned by an American-born pianist in almost 25 years.
