Dr. James E. Ewig, Towson professor

Services for Dr. James E. Ewig, associate professor of anatomy and physiology at Towson State University, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Mason-Dixon Baptist Church in New Freedom, Pa.

Dr. Ewig, who lived in Cockeysville, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital of heart disease. He was46.

had been a member of the Towson State faculty for 19 years. Earlier, he was on the staff of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda.

A native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pa., he held both a master's degree and a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.

He is survived by two daughters, Allison and Elizabeth J. Ewig, both of Erie, Pa.; his father, Robert E. Ewig of Canonsburg, Pa., and two brothers, Air Force Maj. John J. Ewig of Dayton, Ohio, and David G. Ewig of Library, Pa.
