Services for Howard D. Goldman Jr., an insurance executive who specialized in estate, tax and investment planning, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Dulaney Valley funeral home of Lemmon-Mitchell-Wiedefeld Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium.
Mr. Goldman, who lived in Riderwood, died late Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 62.
He had been affiliated with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. for more than 36 years.
A native of Richmond, Va., he was a graduate of Washington and Lee University and pursued graduate studies at George Washington University and the University of Virginia.
He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II, and later worked as an economist for the Navy.
After his marriage to the former Delores Langston of High Point, N.C., Mr. Goldman settled in Baltimore County and began his career in the insurance industry.
He had been a president of the Baltimore Life Underwriters Association and was a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table of the National Association of Life Underwriters.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, he is survived by a daughter, Marcia Goldman Enns of Lewisville, N.C.; a son, Howard D. Goldman III of Ruxton; a sister, Patricia L. Goldman of Richmond; a brother, Richard A. Goldman of Mendham, N.J.; his stepmother, Grace A. Goldman of Richmond; and a granddaughter, Samantha Marie Enns of Lewisville.
The family suggested memorial contributions to the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation for the Howard B. Goldman Jr. Memorial Fund/Cardiology, 7620 York Road, Towson 21204.
