Edward D. Matthews, a native of Baltimore, died Monday at Johns Hopkins Hospital after a long illness. He was 27.
Services for Mr. Matthews, who also lived in Turners Station, were being held today at the Greater St. John's Baptist Church, 209 Walnut Ave., Turners Station.
He attended Lemmel Junior High School and Dundalk Senior High.
Mr. Matthews had an aptitude for electronics and mathematics and had worked as a disc jockey at weddings and parties. He also had worked in construction.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel R. Ford of Baltimore; his father, Arthur Matthews Jr. of Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Twirl M. Tucker of Baltimore; and two brothers, Aaron A. Hunt and Arthur Matthews III, both of Baltimore.
