Former Denver Nuggets assistant coach Doug Moe Jr. has accused the first black owners of a major sports franchise of firing him because he is white. The lawsuit filed in Denver District Court alleges the owners "were motivated, in part, by consideration of race." The suit also claims the firing constituted breach of contract because Moe, whose father, head coach Doug Moe Sr., also was fired Sept. 5, had received oral assurances he would be signed to a new one-year contract worth $80,000 for the coming National Basketball Association season.
