Baltimore City

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Chilton St. reported that a relative of his broke into the house and removed a handgun. Police said the handgun was valued at $300.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a man who assaulted two women as they walked in the 6400 block of Walther Ave. last night and robbed one of them of her purse. Police said Helen Funk, of the 6400 block of Walther Ave., and a friend, Barbara Menear, of the 8600 block of Hydra Lane in the Putty Hill section of Baltimore County, were walking near Funk's house around 8:30 p.m. when they were accosted by a man who first attempted to steal Menear's purse. Police said Manear was knocked to the ground by the man but managed to hold onto her purse. The man then turned his attention to Funk and ripped her purse from her grasp. The man then entered a car that was parked nearby and drove off. Police said Funk's purse contained about $21 in cash and property.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Bobby Jackson, of the 4800 block of Lorelly Ave., reported that he was walking near his home around 11 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a gunman riding a bike. Jackson told police the man forced him to give up his money before riding off. Police said the armed biker escaped with $150.

ROBBERY TRY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that Jennifer Ricci, of the 2800 block of Echodale Ave., was in the 5200 block of Hampnett Ave. when a man approached her from behind and attempted to steal her purse. Police said that during a brief struggle, the purse strap broke and that the man fled the scene on foot without taking any of Ricci's property.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Michael Gulden, of the 4100 block of E. Northern Parkway, reported that someone entered the back yard of his home and stole his lawn mower. Police said the property was valued at $400.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Officials of the Bi-Rite food store in the 5900 block of Belair Road reported that someone removed 20 wooden pallets from the store's loading dock. Police said two men leaving the area in a pickup truck were being sought in connection with the theft. Police said the pallets were valued at nearly $250.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Deborah Bailey, of the 3600 block of Kimble Road, reported that she was standing outside her basement door when a man who implied he was armed with a handgun approached her and demanded money. Police said Bailey was forced to give up cash and property, all valued at $75 to the man, who fled the scene on foot.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a man and his female companion who assaulted Kenneth McLucas, of the 7100 block of North Point Road, by pointing a sawed-off rifle at him during an incident in the 5900 block of Cedonia Ave. Police said McLucas was not injured.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Tia Gordon, 23, of the 4000 block of Maine Ave., reported that while she was in her apartment around 11 p.m. yesterday she received a call through her intercom system that "Deno," a friend, wanted to see her. Gordon told police that when she opened the front door of her apartment building she was met by two men, one armed with an unknown-caliber handgun, who ordered her back upstairs. In the apartment, the men robbed Gordon of her of $15, a VCR and a radio. Gordon told police she was not harmed and that the pair left the apartment through the front door.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police reported that Ricky Moore, 26, of the 2800 block of Norfolk Ave., was near his home shortly before 11 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun. Moore told police the man demanded his money, and that he turned over to the gunman $10 and his gray jacket. Police said that during the incident, the gunman struck Moore in the face with the weapon.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Gregory Lewis, 25, of the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North, reported that he was in the 4800 block of Park Heights Ave. around 11 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked for no apparent reason by a man armed with a blue-steel revolver who struck him several times with his fist and the weapon. Police said when Lewis fell to the pavement unconscious, the gunman robbed him of $40 and fled the scene. Police said Lewis was treated at Sinai Hospital for head and facial injuries.
