Patterson fullback Mike Branch let his team to a 35-21 win over Edmondson on Friday to earn The Sun's boys Player of the Week honor. Branch, 5 feet 11, 194 pounds, had 25 carries for 237 yards and four touchdowns, as the Clippers (3-0) rallied from an early deficit. Branch, also a defensive end, had five tackles.


Severna Park senior soccer goalie Tami Riley helped the Falcons (3-0) with five saves in a 4-0 win over county rival Broadneck on Tuesday to earn The Sun's girls Player of the Week honor. It was Riley's 24th career shutout. She has 21 saves in three games this season.
