WESTMINSTER - Dr. Alan A. Rosen, a specialist in gastroenterology, has joined the medical staff of Carroll County General Hospital.
A graduate of the Johns Hopkins School in Baltimore, he completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va.
He completed a fellowship with the Department of Gastroenterology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Rosen is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible for certification in gastroenterology.
His professional affiliations include: American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Internal Medicine, American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians, Maryland Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Medical and Chirurgical Society of Maryland.
His office is at 222 W. Coldspring Lane, Baltimore.
Also at CCGH: * Christina Schwegel has been selected as Employee of the Month for September.
An 11-year employee of the hospital's pharmacy, she is a senior technician in charge of purchasing and inventory management. She also assists pharmacists in preparing oral, injectable and other medications for patients.
Schwegel is cited for her in-depth knowledge of pharmacy tasks and procedures, for demonstrating a high level of initiative, and for her efficiency in performing her duties.
A resident of Littlestown, Pa., she enjoys music in her spare time.
* Dr. Hafeez Abdul Syed, a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology, has become certified as a Diplomate in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Syed received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical School in India. He completed his internship at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York and his residencies there and at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey. Board certified in internal medicine, he has been on CCGH's medical staff since 1988.
His professional affiliations include membership in the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, and the American Medical Association, and Maryland Society of Cardiology.
