A memorial service for James M. Robinson Jr., a retired claims examiner for the Social Security Administration, will be held at noon today at the March Funeral Home West, 4300 Wabash Ave.

Mr. Robinson, who was 59, died Tuesday of cancer at his home on Jo Ann Drive in the Rockdale area.

He retired from Social Security 10 years ago. He had worked for the federal agency for more than 10 years after teaching in Baltimore elementary schools.

The Baltimore native was a graduate of Douglass High School and Coppin State College and did graduate work at Morgan State University.

Mr. Robinson served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elsye Moody; two daughters, Yvette Barber of Baltimore and Karyn Barber of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Doris Rogers of San Miguel, Mexico; and six grandchildren.
