There are some 4,900 stores in the Subway sandwich chain; I have been in 4,887 of them (give or take a few thousand) and have never had a bad sandwich. My all-time favorite is the BMT ($4.19 for a foot-long) in which ham, Genoa salami, bologna and pepperoni are shoveled into a roll the size of a violin case and topped with the famous Subway fixings. (The BMT is named after the Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit, the nation's first subway, so this link with mass transit is taken seriously.

Due to a close friendship with Cockeysville store manager Marc Brown (we had just met), I was persuaded to try the seafood and lobster sandwich ($5.99) on a recent visit. It was pretty good, although a little heavy on the mayo. My wife tried the steak and cheese ($4.39), which was also tasty, if the one bite she allowed me (thank you very much) was any indication.

The two newest entries at this Subway are the pork barbecue ($4.39) and the turkey and bacon ($4.79) sub. Vegetarians can stop whining and try the veggies and cheese sub ($2.69). Subway also features its famous giant party sub, which sells for $8.50 per foot. Behind the cash register is a picture of a 6-foot party sub which, at first glance, looks to be the size of a Trident submarine. No wonder I like the place.
