Mabel Jeannette Geiss, a retired federal worker who lived in Halethorpe for many years, died Monday of complications following surgery at the Baltimore County General Hospital. She was 90 and had moved to Fairhaven, the Sykesville retirement community, about 10 years ago.
Services for Mrs. Geiss will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Fairhaven.
She retired more than 30 years ago from the Internal Revenue Service office in Baltimore but had worked earlier in Washington for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
A native of Atlantic City, N.J., who was reared and educated in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the former Mabel Jeannette Muir moved to Washington as a young woman and first worked in the accounting department of Woodward & Lothrop.
