How would you describe your taste in clothing?
Conservative for work -- I wear dresses and a few suits that are appropriate for work. On weekends, I like more contemporary clothes, like jeans and miniskirts. One dress I love is the one I bought for my daughter's christening. It's ivory lace with a high neck. I've only worn it once, but it would be great for a second wedding.
What's the newest thing in your closet?
I just bought four new dresses for fall. Khaki green is popular and I bought two of the same color, but different styles. I wear a size 2 or 4, but that's not the problem it used to be. Now people my size have shops like Petite Sophisticate and Casual Corner.
What's the oldest thing in your closet?
A pair of jeans, the kind that are worn and comfortable.
Do you have a "standby" you wear to feel and look good?
I guess black is always good, but I don't have just one particular outfit. Shopping is my hobby and through experience I've gotten wiser. Now I only buy what I feel good in.
What have you held on to for sentimental reasons?
The only sentimental thing I have is my wedding gown. My mom's the one that's sentimental. She has saved my old prom gowns and I don't know what I'll ever do with them.
What is your wardrobe weakness?
Definitely dresses, I think I have a dress fetish. I cannot pass up the opportunity to buy a pretty dress. I have so many that I can go for weeks without ever wearing the same dress.
What's the most expensive item in your closet?
It's the ivory dress that I bought for the christening.
What's the least expensive item in your closet?
It's a necklace that cost $10. Every time I wear it, I get compliments.
What's the wildest outfit you've ever worn?
My husband picked it out and when I saw it, I wasn't sure it was me, but once I wore it and got so many compliments, I felt good in it. It's a form fitting sleeveless dress with a big black belt. The bottom is black and top is black and white stripes. I put on black nylons and heels and big earrings. My husband loves it.
What are your favorite accessories?
Earrings, I have so many earring that my friends love to borrow them. I wear the same rings everyday, they are my favorite. I wear big earrings on weekends and the more conservative ones to work.
Do you have any shopping tips you'd like to share?
I guess it would be that when you try something on, go with your gut feeling. If you don't feel 100 percent satisfied and are not comfortable, don't buy it.
