Six people, including an 8-year-old boy who fell off a flatbed trailer, were killed in traffic accidents Friday night and yesterday, state police said.

The 8-year-old, Christopher Michael Baugher of the 11300 block of Harney Road in Emmitsburg, was killed at 10:15 a.m. yesterday. He was sitting with two other children on the back of a flatbed trailer that was hauling an oversized shed at his home. According to state police, Christopher apparently got his hand caught between the rear trailer tires and was pulled beneath the flatbed.

Two Prince George's County men were killed shortly after 1 a.m. yesterday in an accident that police said was provoked by a conversation between the drivers of two cars as they traveled side by side.

Lewis Guido III, 26, of the 12000 block of Morano Drive in Brandywine, was driving his 1978 Toyota northbound on Route 301 when a vehicle driven by his girlfriend pulled alongside to the right, and "some type of altercation took place," state police said.

Mr. Guido steered to the left and lost of control of his car, which went into the center median and turned over several times, landing in the southbound side of the highway about south of Cherry Tree Crossing Road.

Mr. Guido and a passenger in the back seat, Danny Lee Bailey of the Idlewood Trailer Park in Waldorf, were declared dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old West Virginian was killed yesterday when he was blown out of the back of a truck by gusty winds on the Route 340 bridge that links Western Maryland and Virginia, state police in Hagerstown said.

Christopher William Bonnette of Charlestown worked for Maryland-based River Riders, police said. He was sitting on top of a pile of rafts in the back of a flatbed truck with fence-rail sides when a gust of wind blew him and two rafts out of the back and into the path of an oncoming car, police said.

A 52-year-old Washington man was killed and two women were injured on northbound Interstate 95 yesterday morning when the car they were traveling in went off the road and down an embankment, state police said.

Richard D. Lee of the 1300 block of Columbia Road was riding in the right rear seat of the car at 7:30 a.m. when his stepdaughter, Cynthia Jackson, 21, of the same address, apparently fell asleep at the wheel just north of the Maryland House service area, state police said. The car went down an embankment, hitting several trees.

And a 24-year-old Worcester County woman was killed in a single-car accident Friday night in Powellville.

Robbin Lynn Hill of Berlin was driving alone in her 1986 Ford truck south on Route 354 around 11 p.m. when her car struck the left side of the Adkins Mill Pond Bridge.
