Baltimore police seek friends of slain woman

September 16, 1990|By Rafael Alvarez

Police were searching yesterday for acquaintances of a 23-year-old Northeast Baltimore woman who was killed Friday in her Sinclair Lane apartment.

Police identified the victim as Diane Elizabeth Novak of the Goodnow Apartments in the 5300 block of Sinclair Lane.

Detective Gary Dunnigan said the victim suffered a variety of wounds all over her body.

He declined to discuss the cause of death.

Police were looking into the possibility that Ms. Novak was sexually assaulted before she was killed.

Ms. Novak was raised in Seattle.

She moved to Baltimore about two years ago from Upperco, police said, and had been working for a fast-food restaurant in Reisterstown.

Her death occurred some time between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, according to police.

There were no signs of forced entry into the Sinclair Lane apartment.

Anyone with information concerning Ms. Novak's death is asked to call the homicide unit at 396-2117.
