Truck Driver Hospitalized After Rig Rolls Over On Ramp Rescue Crew Works

More Than 2 Hours To Free Man's Legs From Wreckage

The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was listed in stable condition in University of Maryland Hospital after the truck overturned on the Route 10 on-ramp from I-695 West yesterday afternoon.

The truck apparently overturned while trying to make the turn on the ramp.

The driver, who traveling with his wife, was trapped in the cab for two hours and 15 minutes as 12 fire rescue workers worked to free his legs from the wreckage.

The woman was not injured. Police did not release names of the couple, but said they are both from Arizona.

The accident closed down the ramp for several hours, and two firetrucks and three ambulances responded.

Toll Facilities Police are investigating the accident.
