Funeral services will be held for Edgewater resident Willis Fletcher Purdy at noon today at Hardesty Funeral Home.
Mr. Purdy, 64, died of cardiac arrest on Sept. 11 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He retired as a carpenter in the mid-1970s, having worked on Gingerville Development in Edgewater.
He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, for which he received a Purple Heart.
Mr. Purdy was a member of the United Methodist Church, Cummings Behlke American Legion Post No. 26 and VFW Post No. 304 in Annapolis.
He is survived by his wife Mary Taylor Purdy; three sisters, Ruth Hopkins, Beverly Bender and Joyce Evans; and two brothers, John M. Purdy and L. Vernon Purdy, all of Annapolis.
