1989 record: 9-4 (lost to Franklin in 4A-3A Region II finals).

Returnees: Seniors Alison Zaetz (MF), Erin Grossberg (FB), Kim Robinson (FB), Vicky Ardis (MF), Michele Keiser (MF) and Amy Mook (G); juniors Terri Lee (striker), Jennifer Bostak (FB), Terri Bogel (MF), Meagan Pell (FB), Alison Baker (MF), Amanda Baker (MF), Allison Kolody (FB) and Amy Tolley (striker).

Newcomers: Juniors Amy D'Annuzio (MF), Amy Drapalski (G), Vanessa Lincoln (MF) and Wendy Schleifer (striker); sophomores Nickie Matters (FB), Cindy Parulis (FB) and Michelle Smith (FB); freshman Michelle Salmon (striker).

Coach's outlook: "This year's team is no better or worse than last year's team. Our success will depend on our work habits and fundamentals. I think that setting a goal to make the playoffs is very realistic. Some teams set goals that are too high, and when they don't reach them, it's a big letdown."

Anne Arundel County Sun outlook: The Patriots have a deep bench and are still relatively young. The more game time the youngsters receive, the tougher they'll be toward playoff time.
