Diversity highlights this fall's arts and entertainment calendar Dance

Dance highlights in the Baltimore area:

* The Towson Ensemble Dancers will perform Sept. 28-30 at Towson's Fine Arts Concert Hall. Call 830-2760 for more information.

* The Maryland Ballet begins its fifth season Oct. 5-6 with "Nightmusic." The performances, at the Baltimore Museum of Art, will feature the world premiere of "Nightmusic," choreographed by Phillip Carman. The ballet's performance of "The Nutcracker" is scheduled for Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-16 at Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College.

* The Path Dance Company presents the "Out on a Limb" festival, featuring Baltimore and Washington artists, at 8 p.m. Oct 5-7 at the Baltimore School for the Arts. Call 243-3477 for details.

* Oct. 10 and 11 The Washington Ballet performs at Kraushaar Auditorium at 8 p.m. Call 337-6333.

* The Downtown Dance Company begins its fourth season of Dance on the Edge on Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. with the Randy Warshaw Dance Company. Shows are also scheduled for 8 p.m. Oct. 13 and 4 p.m. Oct. 14. The contemporary dance series continues with solo artist Maureen Fleming Nov. 16, 17 and 18. The dance series takes place at the Baltimore Museum of Art auditorium. Call 547-2486 for details.
