Puca Report A Week Late

September 12, 1990

WASHINGTON - Anthony P. Puca -- who yesterday ran in the primary against Representative Beverly B. Byron -- was a week late in filing his required pre-primary campaign finances report.

The 6th District Democrat was declared a non-filer Friday by the Federal Election Commission because he missed an Aug. 30 deadline. While he did file the required two-page report at 5:45 p.m. Friday, an FEC spokesman said the commission still could investigate the matter and impose sanctions.

The only candidate for federal office in Maryland not to file the campaign finances report on time, Puca could face fines of more than $5,000, the FEC said yesterday.
