Howard Mazer is named general sales manager for WBSB (B-104) Radio. He joined the station in 1981 and most recently worked as local sales manager.

He replaces Bruce Fox, who has accepted a position as general manager and partner of WGNE-FM in Daytona Beach, Fla.

At Comcast Cablevision of Maryland, Kevin Dodge is promoted to service technician. He was previously an in-house technician. in 1988 after spending a year as an emergency medical `f technician with a Baltimore County-based fire department. He remains an active member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Co.

Larry Jones joins the cable station as a service technician. He previously held technical and sales positions with companies including Sears Service Center, National Wire Corp. and Roan Rigging & Transfer Co. He also worked for Maryland National Bank as a proof operator.

At WBFF-TV Fox 45, Tim Dotson is promoted to local sales manager from national sales manager. He will oversee a staff of 12 local account executives and assist in marketing efforts involving the Fox Kids Club and many public affairs campaigns.

He joined the station in 1987 as an account executive. Before that, he was a media specialist for Faulkner Advertising.

Andrew D. Hiduke is appointed senior vice president of thHuman Resources Group for the First National Bank of Maryland. He will be responsible for directing the bank's employment, internal training and benefits and compensation programs.

At Alex. Brown & Sons Inc., Sandra J. Flannigan and Mark Schoder are named senior research analysts.

Flannigan specializes in the coverage of banking organizations. She previously worked as a vice president and senior bank analyst for PaineWebber Inc.

Schoder, a certified public accountant, specializes in the coverage of life insurance companies. He most recently worked as vice president of institutional research for Conning & Co.

At Legg Mason Wood Walker, Jeff Roes, Martin Scanlon and Bryce Legg are named investment executives.

Roes and Scanlon will work in the firm's Towson office. Roes previously spent three years with Dean Witter. Scanlon previously worked in sales management and internal auditing at Alex. Brown. Before that, he was an internal auditor for both PaineWebber and Drexel Burnam.

Legg, who will work from the firm's Hunt Valley office, previously spent more than three years with Merrill Lynch. Wendy S. Steele is named director of human resources, and Amy DeVol is promoted to director of organization development at CSL Intermodel. Steele will be responsible for the daily operation of the human resources department and for all labor relations functions at CSL. She was previously director of human resources for CSX Technology, a subsidiary of CSX Corp.

DeVol will be responsible for employee and organization development, training and the implementation of the company's affirmative action plan. She joined the company in 1987 as a manager in the human resources department. Before that, she held positions in sales and human resources with CSX Transportation Inc.'s Distribution Services. Before that, she was personnel manager for Wats Marketing of America, a telemarketing division of American Express.


John Patterson joins Gray Kirk & Evans as a copywriter. He previously served a wide range of national, international and regional accounts for Washington-based Henry J. Kaufman & Associates. Before that, he was a copywriter for Manning, Selvage & Lee's Washington office.

John P. McLaughlin is named executive vice president of the Baltimore-based agency. He serves as partner-in-charge of account management services, overseeing a PATTERSON client roster including Quality International, Head Sports Wear and Utz Quality Foods.

He was previously president of Evans/McLaughlin Inc.

Paul Manner is named manager of labor relations for the

HealthCare Corp. of America.

In this newly created position, he will advise and consult with both employers and unions on health care benefits. He will represent all three of the corporation's subsidiaries, CareFirst, Potomac Health and Physicians CareFirst.

He specializes in the areas of dispute resolution, contract negotiations and employee benefit programs. He was previously director of organizing and collective bargaining for The Maryland Public Employees Council 67, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, a position he held since 1978.
