ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Mike Linskey is scheduled to make his first start of the postseason tonight in Game 2 of the Triple-A Classic against the Omaha Royals. The left-hander, 7-9 with a 3.58 ERA during the regular season, was bumped from the rotation in the Governors' Cup playoffs and did not pitch in relief.
"My dad called me and said why wasn't I in there," the 1984 Baltimore Loyola High School graduate said. "I said there was no reason to put me in a role I haven't been in and take someone out of a role they've been in all season. The seventh, eighth or ninth innings, that's [Rob] Woodward or Tex [Mike Smith]."
